Berkshire Estate Agents & Lettings
Berkshire is one of the home counties, in South East England, recognised by the Queen as the Royal County of Berkshire due to it being home to Windsor Castle. A mix of rural villages offering a slower pace of life with picturesque landscapes and busy towns filled with opportunities, Berkshire is a great place to consider living. Students are drawn to Reading for its university, making for a thriving rental market, while families head to the area for its excellent schools (Eton College is here).
What is it like to live in Berkshire?
While Berkshire is great for those looking to move somewhere away from busier parts of South East England, it still has some exciting cities and larger towns with all types of property available to buy or rent. Reading is the host of the Reading Festival, attracting thousands of music lovers each year from all over the country, while Bray village has established itself as a foodie destination, with three Michelin-starred restaurants including Heston Blumenthal’s The Fat Duck as well as The Waterside Inn, which is run by Alain Roux.
The county’s schools make It popular for families. Eton College and schools that feed into it are here, with equally impressive state schools. Hampstead Norrey’s Chuch of England Primary School and The Westgate School are just two of the schools awarded the top rating by Ofsted.
Surrounding Berkshire is the North Wessex Downs, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For nature lovers there is also The Kennet Valley with the River Kennet and the Kennet and Avon Canal running through the attractive market town of Newbury, and Hungerford. Even with all this lovely countryside, the M4 runs through the centre of the county providing excellent road links and making it convenient for Heathrow too. Good rail links into Paddington run through the southern half and along the eastern edge of West Berkshire.
