What is the NRLA?
The NRLA is the National Residential Landlords Association, the UK’s largest membership organisation for landlords in the private residential sector. The NRLA represents over 100,000 members, from landlords renting out a single property to professional residential landlords with extensive portfolios.
The NRLA provides a wealth of guidance, training and information for landlords, and is seen as the leading organisation for private residential landlords. Life as a landlord can be tricky and complicated at times, and the NRLA is there to help.
There are two ways to join the NRLA – as a landlord or business.
What are the benefits of joining the NRLA?
NRLA membership brings with it a comprehensive package of services, resources, training and networking opportunities. Regular branch meetings give the chance to meet other landlords in your local area, as well as finding out about legislative changes, financial matters and issues affecting the private rented sector.

The NRLA has trained advisors providing expert telephone and online support on a range of issues, from rent arrears to referencing. They can provide potential solutions to questions on any aspect of managing properties, such as legislation, regulations and compliance.
Access to documents, forms & guides
There is plenty of paperwork involved in being a landlord, so members of the NRLA enjoy free access to an extensive range of resources, including tenancy agreement templates, checklists, inventory resources and eviction notices, guidance and forms. As new legislation is introduced the association updates landlords with the very latest information.
Landlord representation
The NRLA lobbies the government on behalf of its members, raising awareness of issues that affect private residential landlords and seeking clarification on policies and legislation. Landlords are governed by strict legal standards and have to be compliant in many aspects of property management, and the NRLA represents their interests in all such discussions and periods of consultation with local authorities and central government.
eLearning courses and webinars
The NRLA provides a wide range of training courses covering all aspects of operating in the private rented sector. These include face-to-face classroom courses, virtual eClassroom courses and remote eLearning courses. All offer Continuous Professional Development points for accredited landlords.

Should you join the NRLA?
